An original Edo-period Kabuto helmet in cast iron with six plates, black lacquer, blue sugake odoshi on the helm, and a kuwagata maedate, paired with a late Edo mask in iron with red exterior and black lacquer inside, measuring 34 cm high by 28 cm wide and in good condition.

Interesting kabuto from the middle of the Edo period. 1680-1750.

The kabuto is a hari -bachi kabuto made in iron with 6 large plates (roku-ken) then black lacquered . The shikoro is lacing with blue sugake odoshi

And the front plate is thick two sheet of iron. Good ,strong reinforcement .

.This helmet bears testimony to its creator's genius, drawing inspirations from various designs to craft a unique and original piece :

- The general shape of this helmet immediately reminiscent of the 5-plate Hineno-Zunari helmets
- It features the " tenkokuzan "shape, characterized by a pronounced depression where the plates meet around the tehen no kanamono or hachimanza .
-Additionally, the outer plates of the hachi bowl are slightly convex, reminiscent of "akoda"-style helmets.

Not a classic Hineno-zunari kabuto here but an original kabuto made with 6 plates .
