AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A Vintage Naga Multi-Strand Glass Seed Bead & Etched Brass Panel Statement Necklace
Nagaland, India - Mid to Late 20th Century (circa 1960s–1980s)

The necklace features 24 strands of densely strung glass micro-seed beads in a traditional, high-contrast color palette of deep black, opaque white, and accents of red, yellow, and green.
It has a pair of substantial, matching brass side-panels. These rectangular spacer plates are embellished with hand-etched geometric diamond motifs and stylized chevrons, serving both an aesthetic purpose and a structural one by neatly organizing the bead columns to ensure the necklace sits flat and elegantly against the chest. The piece is finished with a traditional woven fiber button-and-loop closure mechanism with a bone button.

Length (open) = 85 cm
Length (closed) = 46 cm
Width = 4 cm
Length brass panels = 16 cm
Weight = 400 g
Number of Strands = 24

Good vintage condition with minor signs of wear consistent with age and authentic tribal use. The beadwork is intact. One thread replacement noted (see photo 16, first thread on the right panel). Threads might be weak. The brass panels exhibit an attractive, natural aged patina with slight oxidation that enhances their rustic charm. One panel has light scratches and label-residue on the back (see photo 15).
For a good impression, please watch all photos carefully.

Insured shipping.
Can also be collected in Ghent, Belgium.
