Description from the seller
Julius Winfield Erving II (Nassau County (New York), February 22, 1950), commonly known by the nickname Dr. J, is a former American basketball player. Erving made a major contribution to modern basketball, in which athleticism, jumping ability, and playing above the rim became increasingly important.
In 1976, at the time of the NBA–ABA merger, Erving was the best-known player in the American Basketball Association (ABA). He won, across ABA and NBA, three championships and four Most Valuable Player Awards. He led the scoring charts in three seasons. He did so while playing for the Virginia Squires and the New York Nets in the ABA, and the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA. With 30,026 points (combined NBA and ABA), he is the fifth-highest scorer in professional basketball history. He is the only player to be named MVP in both the ABA and the NBA. In 1996, Erving was honored as one of the 50 greatest NBA players of all time, on a list created to celebrate the NBA’s 50th anniversary that year. In 1993, he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Erving was one of the best basketball players ever. He was known for his dunk from the free-throw line. He was one of the greatest dunkers of all time. His most famous dunk was the "slam" dunk. Since then, this move has become a staple concept in basketball and is viewed by most as a fundamental part of the game. He is also credited with popularizing the "crossover" dribble and the "no-look" pass.
This relates to a beautiful custom retro jersey signed in black by Julius Dr. Erving. Includes a COA with hologram, players ink, and JSA and a stats nametag.
