Description from the seller
No reserve price!
Important Serving Tray or "Catchall" in Pale Green Onyx and Honey, Mid-Century Style – 38cm x 28cm.
Elegant and sturdy rectangular serving tray or display piece, entirely carved and faceted from a solid block of natural onyx (frequently referred to as onyx marble). The piece presents a refined pale green and milky white tone, enriched by expressive organic veins in honey, amber and terracotta tones that cross the stone transversely, lending a unique and sculptural character to each face.
The design stands out with its organic, sinuous lines: the rims and perimeter contours feature a wavy, cut-out treatment with classic appeal, culminating in two robust, perforated handles integrated seamlessly into the body of the mineral. The top surface has a high-gloss mirror polish that enhances the natural translucency characteristic of onyx as light passes through, contrasting with the level base.
A highly decorative piece, ideal for Mid-Century Modern collecting, luxury entertaining service, or as a vanity tray. It presents an excellent overall condition, preserving the integrity of the carved edges and the vibrancy of the minerals, with slight intrinsic variations of the stone that attest to its authenticity.
Good overall condition, with no faults to note.
