About the artist:
Diederik van Apple was born in 1985 in Leiden, the Netherlands, where he grew up. In his childhood, he always visualized the big picture. There was no boundary between fantasy and reality. He was addicted to Walt Disney books and legendary films like The Godfather, Scarface, Pulp Fiction, and Boondock Saints. He loved watching, reading, and immersing himself in the stories as if he were part of the piece itself.
In 2003 he began his law studies, but after two years he realized he could not express his creativity in that study and decided to quit. In 2005 he started as an art representative in an art gallery in Amsterdam. In those years he traveled the world, participated in exhibitions and art fairs for the gallery, and found his passion.
With his experience, artistic insight, and a passion for art, he began to conceive designs for artworks. Combine his imagination with the artistic atmosphere in which he had lived in recent years. There was no boundary between work and leisure, and he began to build unlimited possibilities of digital mix-media art. After his first launch in 2017, he produced three series of limited editions that sold out in a short time.
This marked the beginning of Van Apple’s artworks and his career. He took six months off and released astonishing new series of artworks; Mr. Satoshi, Golden Tweety, loved by Daffy and Mickey Who. After his most recent releases, he decided to dive deeper into the creative mood and flew once to Ibiza. The most artistic island on Earth was a great success, and new things often emerged. At the moment, his artworks are popular worldwide among art lovers and investors are fascinated by his style.
Van Apple’s art is a blend of digital techniques such as photography and famous characteristics. The base of the art is aluminum foil or gold foil, then he adds holograms, colors, glitter, diamonds, and other handcrafted items. All artworks are handmade and finished with several layers of epoxy resin. By adding these layers, he can create innovative and unique mix-media art with a fantastic 3D effect.
