Yves Offret (1946 – 2004)
Norman painter
Born in 1946, Yves Offret devoted his life to painting, developing a body of work deeply rooted in his native Normandy. His studio, located in Conches-en-Ouche, was the site of meticulous pictorial research into landscapes, changing light, and the atmospheres of the region.
In the 1980s, he exhibited notably at Galerie Tuffier in Andelys, where his work drew the attention of an audience sensitive to the poetry of his canvases. Loyal to a personal approach, Offret favors an intimate painting, where nature and scenes of life transform into sensitive evocations, imbued with serenity.
Died in 2004, Yves Offret leaves behind a discreet yet sincere body of work, bearing witness to the artist's attachment to his homeland and to the simple beauty of daily life.
