Cor van der Zwalm (1884-1955) - Havengezicht Rotterdam

Very poignant glimpse into the dynamics of the Rotterdam port shortly after World War II. A fine work by painter Cor van der Zalm. This former shipworker studied at the academy in the evenings, and his oeuvre remained ships and harbor scenes. Largely free of artist collectives, his work appears on the market only very rarely. The Maritime Museum in Rotterdam has his work in its collection.

The piece is fresh and brisk in a suitable frame and is carefully framed.
