Description from the seller
Old antique Jambati singing bowl
Origin Tibet/Nepal
Age approximately early 1950s, possibly older.
The tone is phenomenal, bright with deep tones as a Jambati bowl with thinner walls would allow. It has a beautiful patina that suits the age and condition.
Diameter is 20.8 cm and height 8.6 cm
423 Hz with wide oscillation down to 125 Hz
Note A
Jambati
The thin wall is slightly curved and high, the bottom is small and flat. The tone is impressive and lingers!
You can often recognize old Jambati bowls by very many fine hammer strikes, which naturally can fade a bit with wear. The antique bowls are often hundreds of years old. Very occasionally I find one with an inscription. The old bowls come in several variants, in terms of shape, color and hammering. It seems as if these bowls have gained an extra tonal dimension through use and time, just like good wine that, in the right cask, develops flavor with time.
This singing bowl is pure, original and authentic material.
With very beautiful patina! Depending on the metals used!
Complete with 2 matching professional mallets.
