This work brightly synthesizes the transformation of the inner world into an act of full liberation and personal renewal. The female body reveals itself as a fertile nest of ideas and hopes that, rising and crossing the horizon, come to life, clarity and radiant vitality. Through the flight of swallows, the flourishing of the deepest thoughts toward the freedom of the exterior is celebrated, reminding us of the wonderful ability to let go of burdens, reconnect with oneself, and joyfully embrace the continuous rebirth of one’s own soul.
Vida AMReyes. (Granma ,Cuba 1991) discovered from a very young age that drawing was not just a pastime, but a way to translate the world. In 2010, she graduated with honors from the prestigious Carlos Enrique Gómez Academy of Fine Arts. There she consolidated an exceptional technical dexterity in oil painting, acrylics, and drawing from life, foundations that later would shape her conceptual signature.
Her early career unfolded amid the Cuban cultural fervor, actively participating in young art salons and group exhibitions. Her work quickly began to stand out: in salons and exhibitions earning numerous prizes and mentions.
AMReyes's work is distinguished by a visceral and imposing realism that captivates the eye instantly. However, her approach does not stay at mere photographic mimetic. On a rigorously worked anatomy or faces charged with deep psychographic expressiveness, the artist overlays and integrates icons, allegories, and conceptual elements: wings that seem invisible to the bearer, suspended threads, blocks of dense color, or garments laden with symbolism. For her, the human body and the everyday figure are the perfect canvas to reflect on identity.
This fusion between technical mastery and symbolic narrative opened the way to her international projection. Over the last decade, her pieces have been acquired by private collectors and galleries in:
Spain: where her conceptual language connects with European expressionism.
United States: integrated into private collections dedicated to contemporary Latin American art.
Belgium and Poland: Exhibited at figurative art fairs and avant-garde galleries.
Russia: Acquired by collectors fascinated by the technical rigor and the school of realism.
Currently, AMReyes resides in Spain, the country where she has established her studio and consolidated a new creative phase. Far from the quick commercial noise, she continues to develop her artistic life with patience and rigor, exploring painting as a tool of universal introspection. Her studio today is a space of constant creation, where every brushstroke continues to reveal those hidden truths and icons that we all carry inside, but which we often find hard to see.
