Description
RARE FRENCH ALTO SAXOPHONE E. BEAUGNIER & CIE – MANTES NEAR PARIS
I am selling an important and distinctive alto saxophone by E. Beaugnier & Cie, a historic French instrument manufacturer based in Mantes, near Paris.
The instrument exhibits the characteristics and engravings typical of Beaugnier production from the first half of the 20th century.
PRESENT ENGRAVINGS
On the body the following markings are clearly visible:
“Anciens Établissements R. Siour & E. Beaugnier”
“Fabrication Artistique”
“E. Beaugnier & Cie – Mantes près Paris”
The EB mark is also present.
Interestingly, there is also an engraving referring to the commercial representation in Barcelona, a detail documenting the international destination of the instrument.
