Description from the seller

The shore lights up in short, dense strokes: warm yellows, soft oranges, rich reds, placed side by side without ever blending completely. The white trunks, thin as threads, cut through the mass of foliage and lift it upward. Behind, the hill stretches out in a warm brown and the sky remains a band of clear blue that gives room to everything else. At the bottom the water does not merely reflect: it repeats. It gathers the same colors and stretches them into long horizontal bands, speckled with violet. The landscape splits in two, and the second forest — the inverted one — is looser than the first: it is there that painting reveals itself for what it is, matter and color in motion.

Signed and dated 2026 in the bottom right
Image size: 90 x 70 cm
Total canvas size: 100 x 80 cm
The work is sold without a frame; it will be rolled and shipped in a cardboard tube.
The certificate of authenticity is issued exclusively upon request, in digital format.

Volta’s research moves within a tradition of return — not nostalgic, but active. The great tradition of European painting is the starting point: the period each work evokes, from time to time. But the gesture by which this heritage is traversed is unmistakably contemporary. Color does not illustrate, it breathes. The brushstroke does not describe, it vibrates. What remains of the past is the deep structure — a certain idea of body, of space, of light — while the surface is all-present, all-living. Volta does not quote, it restitutes: his/her compositions seem to emerge from a shared cultural memory, brought to light with different eyes.
