Foundation (1890): The winery was founded on July 10, 1890 in the emblematic Barrio de la Estación in Haro by five families of Rioja and Basque grape growers under the original name Sociedad Vinícola de La Rioja Alta. Its first president was Doña Saturnina García Cid y Gárate, and its first oenologist was the French Monsieur Vigier.
