A million years ago, a metallic and large-sized planetoid collided with the north of Scandinavia, in present-day Sweden. This meteorite is known by the name Muonionalusta, and to this day it is the oldest meteorite on Earth for which there is a record. It was first discovered in 1906, and since then a few specimens have been recovered, usually of small size.
