Work linked to the European impressionist landscape tradition, with special influence from genre painting and beach scenes developed between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The loose brushwork, atmospheric luminosity, and interest in depicting an everyday outdoor scene recall plein air approaches and painters interested in capturing the changing effects of light on the coastal landscape.

The composition portrays a lively beach scene at the foot of a mountainous landscape. In the foreground and in the central area there are numerous figures distributed along the shore, some strolling and others gathered beside several wooden buildings of a seaside or recreational character. Several elegantly dressed women in period attire stand out, giving the scene a pronounced genre character.

At the top of the buildings flutter several flags, while the sea occupies the left edge of the composition. The color palette is dominated by greens, ochres, bluish greys, and earthy tones, applied with an agile and spontaneous brushstroke. The mountainous background appears softened by a misty atmosphere that provides depth and reinforces the scene’s luminous quality.

The work is presented with a wide gilded frame of a classical character, richly ornamented with vegetal reliefs and stylized motifs. It features different stepped moldings and an inner light-toned band that acts as a transition between the painting and the gold, adding depth and decorative presence to the whole.
