Gefa Watch Small Seconds, reference 1605, from the 1950s with a 36 mm chrome-plated stainless steel case, silver sector dial, manual-winding Swiss movement and a long leather band.
Description from the seller
Gefa Watch – Vintage Small Seconds – 17 Jewels – Antimagnetic – 1950s–1960s
Manual Winding – Chrome-Plated Case – Sector Dial – Swiss Mechanical
A charming vintage Gefa Watch dating from approximately the 1950s–1960s, featuring a beautifully aged sector-style dial, small seconds display and a Swiss 17-jewel hand-wound mechanical movement.
The watch has a classic 36 mm case, a particularly attractive size for a vintage piece from this period. Its dial is the highlight: a two-tone silver/grey sector configuration with aged Arabic numerals, gold-tone hands and a separate small-seconds register at 6 o’clock.
The natural patina visible across the dial gives the watch an authentic vintage character and reflects its age rather than attempting to conceal it. The inscriptions “17 Jewels,” “Waterproof,” “Antimagnetic” and “Swiss Made” further evoke the technical language and aesthetics of mid-century Swiss watchmaking.

Story & Heritage
This Gefa Watch is a fine example of the type of Swiss mechanical wristwatch produced during the post-war period, when independent and lesser-known Swiss brands offered reliable mechanical watches built around movements supplied by specialist manufacturers.
Its design is particularly representative of the era. The sector dial, separate small-seconds register, Arabic numerals and gold-tone hands create the strong visual geometry associated with watches of the 1940s and 1950s, while the 36 mm case gives the piece proportions that remain highly wearable today.
Inside is a 17-jewel Swiss hand-wound mechanical movement, marked TEGROV. Unlike modern mass-produced watches, pieces of this kind represent an era in which even relatively modest Swiss watches were built around fully mechanical movements designed to be maintained and serviced over decades.
The naturally aged dial is an important part of the watch’s personality. Rather than appearing restored or artificially renewed, it retains the traces of its history, giving each surface and detail an individual vintage character.
A distinctive collector’s piece for enthusiasts of mid-century Swiss watches, sector dials and traditional hand-wound mechanical movements.
