Palazzo Donn'Anna - XL format, an oil on canvas maritime landscape in Romanticism style by Giuseppe Colucci (1955), Italy, dated 1995, period 1980–1990, 90 × 150 cm, signed, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
Painting recovered from the ceiling of my late grandfather.
Palazzo Donn'Anna - Giuseppe Colucci".
This signature reveals that the work was executed by Giuseppe Colucci, a well-known contemporary painter born in Naples in 1955. Colucci belongs to a historic family of Neapolitan artists active for three generations (he is the son and pupil of master Paolo Colucci and the brother of the renowned Amleto Colucci) and is particularly esteemed for his unmistakable neo-18th-century style, characterized by golden atmospheres, plays of aquatic transparencies, and pastoral accents.
The inscription "Palazzo Donn'Anna" on the back refers to the monumental 17th-century residence overlooking the sea at Posillipo (Naples). The Interiors Art Collection Falconio has used an aged canvas on which Master Colucci painted this ideal landscape in the Arcadian capriccio style.
Notice: The frame visible in the photo is included as a courtesy and does not constitute an integral part of the artwork. Any damage to the frame will not be grounds for claims or order cancellations.
