Description from the seller
Vintage Art Deco Belt Buckle in Silver Filigree with Garnets and Turquoises. 1930s/40s Splendid high-waisted women's belt buckle in two mirrored parts, dating from the Art Deco period. The item is entirely handmade in delicate silver filigree and fits together at the center to form an elegant geometric oval navette design.
The craftsmanship is enhanced by natural gemstones set in place: 6 dark red garnets with a faceted cut (diameter about 5 mm) 5 turquoise stones with a cabochon cut (diameter about 3 mm)
On the back, both elements feature the original wide findings for the belt ribbon or strap. The piece bears three period hallmarks, including the rectangular maker mark "H2" (attributable to one of the earliest historic goldsmith workshops registered).
Total weight: 37 grams
Dimensions (closed): 8.50 cm (length) x 5.60 cm (width)
Excellent vintage condition, intact structure and the clasp closure functioning perfectly. Retains its splendid original dark patina of time that enhances the openwork craftsmanship. Not chemically cleaned to preserve its authenticity, no scratches
