Description of the Work
This painting is an original canine portrait executed in oil on a rigid fabric panel (21 x 30 cm) that captures with freshness the relaxed personality of a Chihuahua. The composition centers the focus on the animal’s face, where the liveliness of its dark eyes with natural light reflections and the spontaneous detail of the tongue sticking out provide a humorous, tender, and intimate nuance.
The painting technique combines soft brushwork in the volumetric areas with a looser definition in the texture of the chest fur and ears. The light, neutral background adds brightness without competing with the main figure, allowing the warm tones palette (golden, cream, and ochre) to stand out solidly.
It is executed with direct painting technique (alla prima), showing rich impasto and visible brushwork in the fur. Signed by the artist in the lower left corner. An ideal piece for contemporary interior decoration, animal-art collectors, or as an exclusive gift for Chihuahua lovers and owners.
Quality of Materials:
Pigments: High-end Italian oils by Maimeri, formulated with high pigment density and pure non-yellowing oils, guaranteeing excellent lightfastness and gallery-level durability.
Support: Fabric-mounted panel. Provides maximum dimensional stability (prevents warping or cracking due to humidity) and allows for safe, quick framing in any type of moulding.
Palette: Limited palette of earth tones and neutrals, ensuring an timeless, elegant, and clean chromatic harmony in any decorative setting.
