A commemorative lacquerware storage box from the Heisei period in Japan. The surface of the box cover is made of maki-e, with phoenix, pine patterns. The lid of the box has the chrysanthemum emblem of the Japanese royal family. The box is divided into an upper open storage space and a lower drawer with a handle. The interior is lined with dark blue velvet. There is commemorative text on the bottom of the box.
