Fonderia Uccello - Dal modello di Ferdinando De Luca (XIX / XX) - Sculpture, Acquaiolo - 57 cm - Spelter

Sculpture made in antimony on a marble base in the Uccello foundries. The statue represents the famous "Acquaiolo", a subject typical of Neapolitan Realism from the late 19th and early 20th century. It is inspired by the very famous work of master Vincenzo Gemito, who depicted the young Neapolitan street urchins busy selling fresh water through the streets, holding a jar (ewer) under the arm and offering a glass. This version represents the variant with shorts and is a nod to a reinterpretation by Italian sculptor Ferdinando De Luca.
The height is 57 cm and it weighs over 6 kg.
Good condition, signs of age and wear.
