MiLo, Held in Tension - XXL, an original acrylic painting in abstract style, hand signed, 2026, 150 cm by 125 cm, Netherlands origin, excellent condition, sold direct from the artist.
Description from the seller
MiLo (1976), Netherlands — Held in Tension
A bold abstract composition built around broad black forms, vivid red-orange accents and a tactile off-white field. Rounded contours meet angular colour planes, creating a rhythm of enclosed spaces, openings and intersecting shapes.
The black forms give the painting a strong architectural presence, while subtle grey passages introduce depth and variation. Red and orange appear at opposing points in the composition, drawing the eye diagonally across the surface and bringing warmth to its darker structure.
Scratched and etched lines, warm undertones and visible brushwork enrich the pale background. These surface details contrast with the larger shapes, balancing graphic clarity with the irregular character of a worked, layered surface.
The composition invites associations with an abstract sign, a constructed figure or an imagined interior, without settling into a single reading.
About the Artist
MiLo is the artist name of Michiel Lodewijk Schepers, a Dutch contemporary artist based in Amsterdam. His work explores the relationship between texture, line and form, moving between abstract compositions and expressive figurative imagery. Contrasting colour fields, layered surfaces and intuitive mark-making are recurring elements in his practice.
