An aviator chronograph with something extra: the Flyback.

This Revue Thommen Airspeed ref. 16085 is a Swiss automatic chronograph with strong and explicit aeronautical inspiration: large easily readable Arabic numerals, silver dial, sub-dials at 3–6–9, tachymeter on the edge. But what distinguishes it from traditional chronographs are two complications that catch the eye immediately:

The Big Date at 12 o’clock – It’s not the ordinary date window found on standard chronographs: it is a true Big Date realized with a dedicated module, visible on the dial with two large-format digits. It is the element that makes this version immediately recognizable.

The Flyback function – While the chronograph is running, pressing the reset button instantly zeros and restarts the timing, without having to stop and restart. A complication loved by pilots (hence the name) and rarely present in this price range.

The heart: automatic caliber J8151 – The movement is built on the proven Valjoux/ETA 7750 chronograph platform, one of the most robust and respected Swiss automatic calibers, enriched with the big date module. The finish can be admired through the transparent case back, where the rotor and the moving mechanics are visible.

Revue Thommen: a name, a history – A Swiss brand with a centennial tradition tied to flight instruments and measurement tools, symbol of technical and niche watchmaking. A brand highly regarded by aviator watch enthusiasts, still relatively little known to the general public: precisely for this reason its Flyback/Big Date chronographs prove surprisingly rare on the used market.

Watch in excellent overall aesthetic condition, with normal light signs of wear compatible with age. Dial very well preserved. Movement functioning.
