Description from the seller
Château Margaux 1962 – Margaux – 1er Cru Classé
Rare and highly collectible bottle of Château Margaux 1962, one of the most prestigious and historic wines of Bordeaux and one of the five original Premier Grand Cru Classé estates.
This historic vintage comes from Margaux, in the Médoc, and represents an exceptional piece of Bordeaux wine history. The 1962 vintage is now more than sixty years old and should primarily be considered from a collecting and historical perspective.
Historical tasting references include:
• Falstaff: 87/100
• Wine Spectator: 86/100
• Robert Parker – Wine Advocate: 85/100
• Michael Broadbent: 4/5
Historical tasting notes describe a mature and elegant Bordeaux, with developed aromas of red fruit, cedar, tobacco and earthy nuances. At this age, the condition and provenance of the individual bottle are particularly important.
The bottle shown in the photographs is offered exclusively as a collector’s item.
The original label shows significant signs of ageing, including visible staining, patina and areas of wear, consistent with the considerable age of the bottle. The capsule appears substantially intact, with visible signs of ageing.
Important: Due to its age, this bottle is offered exclusively as a collector’s item. The condition of the wine cannot be guaranteed and no guarantee is given regarding drinkability. The photographs accurately show the condition of the bottle, label and capsule.
