Description from the seller
Porcelain in excellent condition, it rings and vibrates when touched with a coin. Lotus flowers, a common decorative motif since the Ming Dynasty. Towards the end of the Qing Dynasty, the artisans of Jingdezhen worked hard to produce imperial-style pieces for the people. The mark on the bottom of the bowl indicates that the piece is Jiangxi Ruo Ci (江西若磁), referring to the famous ceramic production area in China: Jiangxi (江西) — the Chinese province world-renowned for hosting the historic porcelain capital, Jingdezhen. Ruo Ci (若磁) — literally translated as “Like porcelain” or “Finest porcelain,” a prestigious inscription or the specific name of the manufactory that produced the piece.
