Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2006, 6 bottles of 0.75 L.
Description from the seller
Bertani – Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2006 – Lot of 6 Bottles
Prestigious lot comprising 6 bottles of 0.75 L Bertani Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2006, one of the most representative and long-lasting labels from the historic Bertani winery.
Vintage 2006 earned 93/100 points from Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate, a recognition highlighting its elegance, complexity, and aging potential.
Bertani regards 2006 as a vintage characterized by particularly favorable conditions: after a very dry July, August and September rains favored good grape ripening. The harvest took place under optimal conditions, with grapes perfectly ripe and in excellent sanitary condition.
The Amarone is produced with Corvina Veronese and Rondinella, hand-picked and subjected to a long drying period on traditional bamboo racks. The wine is then aged for many years in large Slavonian oak barrels and subsequently bottled. For 2006, bottling occurred in December 2012.
The aromatic profile features plum, cherry and berries, accompanied by notes of dried fruit, licorice, chocolate, spices and tea leaf. On the palate it is full-bodied and structured, with velvety tannins, good sapidity and a vibrant acidity that contributes to the wine’s longevity.

Wine and winery history
Bertani is one of the historic wineries of Valpolicella, founded in 1857 by brothers Gaetano and Giovan Battista Bertani.
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is one of the house’s symbolic labels and is produced using a strongly traditional method. The grapes are hand-picked and left to dry on traditional arèle, progressively losing water and concentrating sugars and aromas.
Vinification is followed by a very long aging in large Slavonian oak casks. For the 2006 vintage, Bertani notes a particularly prolonged wooden aging period, followed by at least another year in bottle.
The result is an Amarone in which the denomination’s typical power is accompanied by elegance, freshness and great aging potential.
To drink or to keep
Drink now or further aging.
2006 is today a mature Amarone, but the structure, acidity and long aging characteristic of this bottle still allow significant evolution.
Bertani itself describes 2006 as a wine capable of giving satisfaction both in the short and long term, thanks to the combination of concentration, freshness and velvety tannins.
The 6-bottle lot is particularly interesting for a collector: the bottles can be tasted progressively, following their evolution over time.
It is recommended to store the bottles horizontally, in a dark, cool and vibration-free cellar, with stable temperature and humidity.
Shipping method
The six bottles will be carefully packed with professional wine-specific packing material, using shock-absorbing protections and individual separators.
The shipment will be made via trackable courier, with reinforced packaging designed to minimize the risk of breakage or damage during transport.
