Description from the seller
Wiktor Bezrukow (the artistic pseudonym of Piotr Łagucik) is a distinguished contemporary Polish painter whose work occupies a unique space on the boundary between Eastern and Western European visual traditions. Born in 1972 and operating from his studio in Białystok, Bezrukow creates highly decorative, single-plane figurative compositions that radiate optimism, charm, and joy.
He enrolled at the Art High School in Supraśl in 1986, where he specialized in artistic weaving, establishing a strong foundation in texture and composition.Later on he was admitted to the Faculty of Scenography at the "Schola Posnaniensis" Higher School of Arts in Poznań in 1992, expanding his visual repertoire into theatrical and spatial design. In 2005, he pivoted back to fine art, dedicating himself fully to easel painting.
His work is regularly featured in prominent Polish art galleries, modern art auctions, and private collections nationwide.
Bezrukow’s distinctive style bridges classical post-impressionist sensibilities with elements drawn from Byzantine culture. His technique, closely tied to the ancient tradition of icon painting, simplifies his compositions into flat, impactful planes that directly engage the viewer.
