This evocative oil painting was created by the Dutch artist Gien Brouwer (also known by his pseudonym Gien van de Velde). He lived from 1944 to 2023.
Brouwer was renowned for his classic, quintessential Dutch landscapes, with a strong preference for painting polder and water-logged areas with reed beds, atmospheric sunset skies, and overflying ducks or geese. His work was internationally appreciated and you can also encounter it at art auctions under the name Gerald Brouwer.
This canvas measuring 50x70 cm is signed with G vd. velde and is framed with a neat and suitably classical frame.
