Description from the seller

Model of the sailing ship LE BELEM.

Beautiful wooden model of the legendary sailing ship LE BELEM, measuring 80 cm in length.
This high-quality version stands out for the fineness of its details: carefully crafted rigging, slender masts, worked deck and harmonious proportions. The whole exudes an elegant and authentic appearance, ideal for a prestigious maritime setting (home, restaurant, ...) or to enrich a collection of ship models.

History of BELEM: LE BELEM is a French three-masted barque built in 1896 in Nantes. Initially intended for maritime trade, notably for transporting cacao from South America, it is one of the oldest still-rigged large sailing ships and an emblematic symbol of French maritime heritage.

This model honors this legendary ship and embodies the timeless elegance of the great sailing ships from the late nineteenth century.

Given its fragile character, it is advisable to remove this beautiful ship from its display. I am also willing as the seller to deliver it within a radius of 300 km from Ostend in Belgium. The buyer would then have to agree on a compensation with me.
