Description from the seller
Beautiful set of three sturdy bound volumes, gathering three consecutive years of the famous French medical journal La Lancette française – Gazette des Hôpitaux civils et militaires:
1890 – 63rd year
1891 – 64th year
1892 – 65th year
Parisian publication, subscription offices, 4 rue de l’Odéon, near the Faculty of Medicine.
An important testimony of French medicine at the end of the 19th century: hospital medicine, surgery, therapeutics, pathologies, clinical observations and scientific works of the era.
Uniform old bindings in dark half-leather, spine with raised bands adorned with gold fillets and gilded dates. Some wear from handling to the bindings, particularly on the 1891 volume.
Internals remarkably fresh and very well preserved for their age, with only a few foxing spots or occasional marks visible. A solid set and particularly decorative in a library.
