Antique Swiss Skeleton / Open-Work Pocket Watch – Gold-Plated / Metal Case – Roskopf/Cylinder Type (c. 1900)
Specifications

Movement: Swiss Manual-Wind Pin-Set movement with exposed balance wheel and train wheels, bridge engraved with serial number N° 116522 and initials "CR"
Setting Mechanism: Pin-set (small nail-push button near 1 o'clock for setting time)
Case Material: Gold-plated brass / metal case
Dial: White enamel dial with classic black Roman numerals, outer minute track, and subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o'clock
Hands: Antique ornate brass/gilt hands

Up for auction is a fascinating and rare Antique Swiss Open-Work / Skeleton Pocket Watch from the turn of the 20th century. Designed with an exhibition crystal back, this piece showcases its charming mechanical movement in full view.
Dial & Hands
The front features a traditional white enamel dial with bold black Roman hour markers and a recessed seconds sub-dial at the 6 o'clock position. Fitted with ornate antique styled hands. (Note: As visible in photos, the enamel dial displays hairlines/cracks around the lower section and near 5–7 o'clock, typical for pieces of this era).
Movement & Display
The highlight of this watch is its back movement view. Protected under a clear crystal, the manual-wind movement displays its gilded bridges, exposed balance wheel, and gear train. The main bridge is hand-engraved with the serial number N° 116522 alongside stylized initials "CR". Time-setting is achieved via the traditional side pin/pusher located at 1 o'clock near the crown.
Case
Housed in a warm gold-toned / gold-plated metal case featuring a prominent rounded crown and top ring bow.
Condition
Dial: Enamel dial shows age cracks and hairlines around the lower half.
Case: Good vintage condition with honest wear to the plating consistent with age.
Movement: Clean visual appearance with intact gears and balance spring. In working order
