Gonçalo REIS, also known as “GONGAS,” is a young talented artist from Lisbon, Portugal.
Born in 2001, he is the son of emblematic graffiti artist Nomen and has been immersed in the world of street art his whole life. Raised among influential figures such as Nomen, YOUTHONE, Utopia, Ram, etc..., Gonçalo's work is deeply shaped by the vibrant graffiti culture in Portugal.
His distinctive style stands out for textures, drips, and effects that characterize each of his works, making them unique in their own right. Each piece is hand-signed by the artist on the front and back, with the creation date, further reinforcing the personal touch that GONGAS brings to every creation.
Gonçalo's true goal as an artist is to design unique, expressive pieces that enhance the spaces they occupy. When you buy a work of his, you’re not just purchasing a painting—you’re bringing home something truly special, because each piece is entirely unique.
Interestingly, GONGAS began his artistic journey in late 2021, at only 20 years old. Contrary to what one might expect, his early works were not paintings but decorative wall clocks. Wanting to stand out, Gonçalo first created epoxy resin clocks with abstract designs. He quickly moved to spray-painted clocks before discovering his passion for canvas painting in February 2022.
Driven by the desire to progress, Gonçalo began selling his art at markets and local fairs across Portugal.
The overwhelmingly positive feedback from clients encouraged him to move to online sales, and in just three years he has created and sold over 800 paintings to buyers in 32 countries, marking his impressive rise as an artist on the global art scene.
