LASVEGUIX
French contemporary artist Lasveguix develops a singular universe at the crossroads of street art, collage and contemporary painting. His work questions the memory of walls, the passage of time and the poetry of the ephemeral, transforming urban scars into emotionally charged pieces.
Introduced to graffiti by his cousin SUOZ, he forges his visual language through contact with the walls of Paris and London. His work sits within an artistic lineage where the great names of urban and contemporary art converse. One can find the heritage of Jacques Villeglé and Raymond Hains in torn-poster art, the sculptural power of Vhils, the raw energy of Jean‑Michel Basquiat, the silhouettes of Jérôme Mesnager, the poetry of Miss.Tic, the urban memory of Ernest Pignon-Ernest, Jef Aérosol’s stencil, Invader’s pixelated universe, and Shepard Fairey’s iconic imagery. Without ever imitating them, Lasveguix asserts a personal, immediately recognizable style.
Torn posters, spray, acrylic, Posca and reliefs compose authentic “wall skins,” where tears, superimpositions and traces of time become witnesses to a collective memory. Each work reveals a dialogue between matter, history and emotion, inviting the viewer to rediscover the beauty of what the city seemed to have forgotten.
Lasveguix regularly exhibits in France and abroad. His works join private collections in many countries and attest to a growing interest from collectors. His career leads him to participate in art fairs, prestigious exhibitions as well as charity galas bringing together collectors, patrons and institutions. His work has notably been shown at events organized at Roland-Garros, the District 13 Art Fair at the Hôtel Drouot, in Monaco and at several emblematic venues on the contemporary art scene.
Through each of his creations, Lasveguix gives a second life to the remnants of the city. He does not depict the walls; he reveals their soul, letting urban heritage, memory and creation dialogue in a work that is profoundly contemporary and timeless.
