AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
Italian fruit bowl made of onyx marble (often also referred to as calcite or aragonite). This kind of hand-cut, polished stone decorative sets was especially popular in the 1960s and 1970s as a luxury Hollywood Regency or Mid-Century Modern home accessory.
Onyx is known for its characteristic, wavy color bands in shades of cream, honey yellow, brown and white, which polish to a beautiful shine.
The stems of the fruit (such as the apple and the pear) are often metal, all made from the same kind of stone, which is unusual.
