A Feeling Kept is a serene, atmospheric painting inspired by the stillness of a water garden. Layers of turquoise, soft aqua, pale lavender and muted green create a tranquil sense of water, pond vegetation and open space, while delicate touches of purple and warm yellow bring the floating lilies and surrounding vegetation to life.
The loose, expressive brushwork and subtle layering of colour give the piece a dreamlike quality. Rather than depicting the landscape in precise detail, the painting captures its mood- the quiet reflection of water, the softness of the sky, and the gentle presence of lilies drifting across the surface.
