Indonesian Balinese temple sculpture in stone from the 20th century, original/or official, weighing 13.3 kg, with dimensions about 25 x 10 x 43 cm, sold with a custom iron stand and provenance from a gallery/dealer.
Description from the seller
Old temple statue from the north of Bali; the temple no longer exists. This is a standalone piece from a larger whole that stood to the right of the entrance to the wantilan. The depiction embraced a well-known Balinese god in the Madya mandala (jaba tengah). In the wantilan the rituals take place, such as the wantilan where people gather, the bale kulkul where the slit drum is played, and the bale gong where the gamelan is played.
The dimensions of the stone are approximately 35x24x10 cm and it sits on a specially made iron base/baseplate. On the base the height is 43 cm. (the item is fixed to the base!) We do not perform cleaning actions so as not to affect the originality of the item. Unique item that you don’t see often... a real collectors item!
