Description from the seller

Relic Fabric of St. Martin, with a wax seal and silk threads; shipping is free.

Martin of Tours (in Latin Martinus; Sabaria, c. 316 – Candes, 8 November 397) was a Roman bishop and military man of Pannonian origin from the 4th century.

Originally from Pannonia, in present-day Hungary, he exercised his ministry in Gaul during the late Roman Empire. Among the first non-martyr saints proclaimed by the Catholic Church, he is also venerated by the Orthodox and the Coptic Churches. He is celebrated on November 11, the day of his funeral in present-day Tours. He is considered one of the great saints of Gaul along with Dionysius, Liborius, Privatus, Saturninus, Martial, Ferreolus, and Julian. In Italy there are more than 900 churches dedicated to him. He is one of the founders of monasticism in the West.

The reliquary does not contain human remains.

This object is offered exclusively for its historical, cultural, or decorative value. No religious significance is claimed, implied, or asserted.
