Description from the seller
Title: The Valley
ㅤ
School: European School (20th century)
ㅤ
Style: Pointillist with post-impressionist influences
ㅤ
Technique: Oil on panel
ㅤ
Condition: Good overall state of preservation, with signs of age and use typical of the period.
ㅤ
Circle and artistic influence:
The work is part of the European landscape tradition of the 20th century, showing influences of post-impressionism and the divisionist and pointillist currents applied to the landscape. The fragmented brushwork and the juxtaposition of greens, ochres, blues and yellows seek to build depth and luminous variations through small masses of color. The execution also presents a free and expressive interpretation of the landscape, away from a strictly academic representation.
ㅤ
Mountain landscape that represents a wide valley seen from an elevated position. The green slopes descend gradually toward the center of the composition, where small rural buildings and cultivated fields integrate among the abundant vegetation. In the background, the successive mountain elevations fade into bluish tones, creating a marked sense of atmospheric depth.
ㅤ
The composition stands out for the use of brief and fragmented brushstrokes, especially visible in the vegetation and the mountains. The color range is dominated by greens and earthy tones, accompanied by blues and grays in the more distant areas. The work appears signed and dated in the lower right corner.
ㅤ
The painting is presented with a gilded wooden frame, wide profile and classic lines, with stepped moldings and a brushed finish. It shows small signs of use and occasional losses in the gilded finish, in keeping with its age.
ㅤ
Observations:
The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In that case, we will require photographs of the damage to proceed with compensation. The customer’s satisfaction is always our priority.
ㅤ
Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge due to reasons such as being outside a continental territory, excessive dimensions or weight of the item. PremiArt will not cover this surcharge.
ㅤ
The courier that must pass through the Swiss border can be much slower than normal, so, if possible, to expedite processing, we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so the client can release it and thus reach its destination. Experience has taught us that this is the most effective solution for both parties.
ㅤ
Due to the high volume of shipments, it is possible that the order is delayed by more than three days, for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. Any questions about your order please contact us through internal messaging.
