Mar en Azul, oil on canvas landscape from Europe, dating to 1950–1960, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
Title: Sea in Blue
ㅤ
School: European Impressionist School (20th century)
ㅤ
Style: Impressionism
ㅤ
Technique: Oil on canvas
ㅤ
Condition: Overall good state of conservation, with possible signs of aging appropriate to its era.
ㅤ
Circle and artistic influence:
Work linked to the tradition of European 20th-century impressionist landscape painting, with particular influence from Mediterranean painting and plein air treatment of the landscape. The loose and impasto brushwork, the luminosity of the palette, and the simplification of geographic contours point to a direct, atmospheric interpretation of the coast, where chromatic sensations prevail over meticulous description.
ㅤ
The work depicts a coastal view dominated by different blues. The sea occupies a large part of the composition and stretches toward a horizon where a mountain formation is discerned, treated with soft bluish and grayish tones. To the right, a rocky promontory advances into the water, built with energetic, impasto brushstrokes in ochres, grays, whites and small yellow accents.
ㅤ
The marine surface is worked with horizontal and undulating brushstrokes that give movement to the water, while the whites applied near the rocks suggest the foam produced by the surf. The composition conveys a serene and luminous atmosphere, characteristic of numerous coastal representations in the impressionist tradition. The work is signed in the lower left corner.
ㅤ
The painting is presented with a brown wooden frame, broad and molded, combined with a light inner fillet of a texture similar to a mat and a fine gilded trim next to the work. The overall gives visual depth and a classic finish.
ㅤ
Notes:
The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In that case, we will require photographs of the defects to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority.
ㅤ
Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge for reasons such as being outside a continental territory, excess dimensions or weight of the item. PremiArt will not cover this surcharge.
ㅤ
The courier that must cross the Swiss border can be delayed much more than normal, so, if possible, to speed up processing, we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so the customer can unlock it and have it reach its destination. Experience has taught us that this is the most effective solution for both parties.
ㅤ
Due to the high volume of shipments, it is possible that the order is delayed more than three days, for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. Any questions about your order please contact us via internal messaging.
ㅤ
Dimensions: 28 × 23 cm
Dimensions with frame: 32 × 36 cm
