Alessio Mazzarulli's original 2024 mixed-media portrait titled Not your doll - 25 (n.691), 30 x 21 cm (collage on paper) framed and ready to hang.
Description from the seller
Not your doll - 25 (n.691)
The measurements are:
- collage: 30.00 x 21.00 cm
- collage + frame: 36.70 cm x 27.70 cm; thickness 2.50 cm
Acrylic painting on shredded paper on canvas
Framed; ready to be hung
It is a collage made with acrylic paints and many small pieces of paper.
I create paintings using acrylic colors and thousands of little pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper becomes art instead of ending up in the trash.
In my latest works I have focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the latest pieces I have created.
On these little pieces of paper one can read words and phrases scattered here and there.
Often it happens this way when we really get close to another person: sometimes we perceive their secret messages, sometimes not.
The work is sold framed and ready to be hung thanks to the hook on the back.
The surface features small reliefs and I enjoy caressing it, feeling it...
I also use acrylic resin on the surface, which gives a glossy effect and protects the colors from sunlight and dust.

Each piece is securely packaged, wrapped and protected for shipment and will arrive in a completely safe package, including the Certificate of Authenticity.
I use DHL/UPS courier: shipping within Europe arrives in 24/48 hours; international shipping arrives in 48/72 hours. Some delay days may be caused by customs clearance at borders.
Shipping takes about 7 days; about 10 days for non-EU countries.
A tracking number is provided for the shipment.
Different light sources can give different colors to the photos.
Sizes may vary slightly as I personally prepare the wooden frame, stretch the canvas, and mount it on the frame.

Thank you.
Important notice for international buyers (non-EU):
Customs duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping costs. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. The amount should be between 10% and 20% of the artwork's value.

Born in 1974 I’m self-taught.
After an initial period devoted to sculpture there was a long pause lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I returned to the “two dimensions” for reasons of time and space, leaving sculpture aside and dedicating myself to acrylic paintings.
I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I have been pushing myself to paint faces of people, both imaginary and real.
For me painting is “freezing time” at that exact moment; a painting of mine is often a faded memory and therefore my works are “worn, eroded by time.” Sometimes the subject of my paintings are glimpses of walls also eroded by time, with moss and mushrooms that – over time – grow on the surface.
The inexorably passing time is the main theme of my works.
Coming from a wonderful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch, and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs clearly perceivable by touch as well as to the naked eye.
In this recent period, after several years in which my works were made from little pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I have been pushing myself to explore Optical Art where I use wooden discs painted and arranged in lines and grids repeated with mathematical rigor that up close seem to form a colorful abstract painting; the more you move away, the more a figure emerges made up of many painted wooden discs.
Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all of my works when I reproduce the faces of women, precisely to give them a voice when they lack the strength or courage to report that they are not their partners’ dolls and cannot be mistreated or, worse, victims of violence.
