Description from the seller

Oil on canvas representing a profile view of an elderly woman, holding a spoon and a container, following the tradition of hyperrealist portraits of the German school.

The composition clearly recalls the works of Balthasar Denner (1685–1749) for the naturalistic treatment of the aged face, the chiaroscuro, and the meticulous detailing.
The framed measurements are 70x60 (height x width).
The unframed measurements are approximately 57x47.

The work comes from a private Spanish collection and preserves an old gilded frame.

There is a historical report dated in Madrid, January 7, 1973, signed by an academic and art historian, who considered the painting to be a work by Denner. That report will be handed over to the buyer.

However, the attribution has not been confirmed by international auction houses, so the work is offered as belonging to the circle, school, or tradition of Balthasar Denner, and is sold according to the photographs.
The painting shows notable pictorial quality, especially in the treatment of the face, hands, and lighting effects. It is an interesting piece for collectors of German old master or Baroque painting.
