Large Antique Altar Cross – Solid Brass Corpus Christi - 45 cm - Brass - 1930-1940

Groot Antiek Altar Cross – Solid Brass Corpus Christi – ca. 1930

Impressive and hefty standing altar cross with Corpus Christi, made of brass. The cross features characteristic cloverleaf-shaped ends and a decorative INRI band.

The heavy base consists of three parts: a brass upper section, a dark middle layer, and a heavy lower piece probably of marble or other natural stone. The combination gives the piece a monumental appearance.

The finely cast Corpus of Christ is detailed. The cross is in a nice antique condition with normal signs of aging, patina and wear. The photos show the condition and construction and form part of the description
