Description from the seller
Brick finishing material: Etruscan
Indefinite dimensions to effect of broken wall
Game, Cartoon & Manga
In this series, characters from the world of video games, cartoons, and manga become an integral part of the wall. They are not simply depicted on the surface: they play, interact, and live directly inside it, transforming the wall itself into part of the artwork and the scene.
An extension of Broken Wall, where image, matter, and space become one.
The work can be hung as is or as in the photo; the photos with frames are only an example of how the artist suggests displaying the piece; the frame is not included in the sale. Only the artwork will be shipped.
Paste-up (also called Poster Art or Wheatpasting) is one of the most widespread and impactful techniques of Street Art. It consists of applying to urban walls drawings, illustrations, or photos previously made on paper, using a liquid glue.
Technique: Mixed media and techniques on materials salvaged from the street, selected to preserve the identity and authenticity of the language of street art.
Technique specified in term:
The paste-up (or poster art) is a street art technique in which the artist creates the work on paper in the studio and then pastes it on a wall in the street.
Dimensions: The indicated dimensions refer to the proposed specimen and should be considered approximate due to the irregular shape and perimeter of the fragment.
Certificate of authenticity: Included and signed by the artist.
Broken Wall
Broken Wall arises from Mart Signed’s inquiry into the relationship between street art, matter, and urban memory.
The project brings a fragment of street language into homes, galleries, and private collections, transforming a surface marked by time into a contemporary work of art.
The wall is not merely the support for the image, but becomes an integral part of the work.
Its surface, the breaks, the signs of time, and the natural characteristics of the material preserve the link with the urban context from which street art originates.
The fracture thus becomes an element of the artistic language: the boundary between the street and the exhibition space is broken, and the urban fragment finds a new placement.
Materials and authenticity
Materials recovered from the street are chosen to maintain a living relationship with the original language of street art.
Marks, abrasions, surface variations, irregularities, and natural imperfections are not defects but elements belonging to the material’s history and to the identity of the work.
These characteristics are deliberately preserved and integrated into the creative process.
The work is signed, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist, and delivered ready to hang.
The frame is not included, unless otherwise indicated for the specific specimen.

The artist
Mart Signed is an Italian street artist active internationally.
His works are part of private collections in many countries, and his artistic research develops around the concept “Where Are You Street Art?”: bringing the language and material of the street inside homes, galleries, private collections, and spaces traditionally distant from the urban context.
Over the years, Mart Signed has developed his international presence through collaborations and relationships with various art-world players.
His research relates street art, urban memory, recovered materials, and space transformation.
In 2023, Mart Signed also participated in a documentary about Banksy and street art culture.

Edition and uniqueness
Broken Wall comprises a limited series of 20 unique works.
Each piece is realized individually and no two pieces can be identical. The shape of the support, the fracture, the surface, the marks, the imperfections, and the material characteristics naturally vary from one piece to another, making each piece unrepeatable.
The 20 works share the same artistic concept and the same core idea, but each maintains its own physical and visual identity.
They are not 20 copies or reproductions of the same work, but 20 unique and different pieces, all belonging to the Broken Wall series.
Each work is identified by a specific code listed on the certificate of authenticity.
