Daniel Witschkanow presents a three-panel original acrylic triptych, Anatomy of the Unspoken, in black and white, signed and dated 2026, on canvas on a wooden stretcher, measuring 80 cm by 120 cm in a vertical format, with an authenticity certificate and delivered without an additional frame.
Description from the seller
“Anatomy of the Unspoken” unites three expressive portraits into one coherent emotional narrative. The faces emerge from a dense weave of black lines and seem to be in a silent dialogue with one another. Each work has its own presence, yet only together do the three canvases develop their full effect.
The composition thrives on a strong contrast between deep black densifications and open white spaces. Eyes, lips and facial contours arise from countless fine lines, droplets and overlays. Some areas appear clear and immediate, others dissolve almost entirely into the abstract structure.
This creates a tension between closeness and distance, presence and dissolution, identity and inner movement. From afar the three faces look powerful and closed; up close a complex network of spontaneous traces and controlled densifications is revealed.
Overlay
At the center of the triptych stands human communication beyond words. The three figures can be read as autonomous persons, yet also as different emotional states or facets of the same personality.
The middle portrait forms a visual focal point, while the two outer figures expand the emotional space. Thus an open narrative about memory, longing, inner tension and interpersonal connectedness emerges.
It is precisely this ambiguity that gives the work depth. “Anatomy of the Unspoken” does not simply show three faces, but three states that are interconnected and leave space for personal interpretation.
Technique
The triptych was created in the artist’s characteristic thread technique. High-quality acrylic glaze is mixed with selected painting media until a flowable yet controllable consistency is achieved.
The color is drawn with brush and hand, flung and densified. This creates fine lines as well as powerful black areas from which the facial features develop.
A essential component of this technique is controlled randomness. Each line responds to movement, distance and the consistency of the color and cannot be identically repeated. As a result, each of the three works remains a fully handcrafted original with its own structure.
