Frames, nails, coarse canvas, and the type of colors suggest the period around 1930. Nielsen was popular in Denmark and artistically very productive.

I bought the painting from an old gentleman and tireless collector who spent a lot of time in the Baltic Sea region (North Germany, Denmark) with his boat, always bringing home old pictures from his travels. His apartment in an old forestry lodge in Mecklenburg was packed with such things because he enjoyed them. When he had to move in his old age, I was able to buy a few of his pictures.

I am selling here a large part of my private picture collection because I am raising money for the renovation and expansion of a Baroque manor house in Thuringia.

My lovely wife and I want to stylishly furnish holiday apartments here between Weimar and the Kyffhäuser Mountains in Baroque and Art Nouveau style. Here you can experience special holidays. Each apartment will have a small library. In the courtyard we are creating a farmhouse garden with historic fruit varieties, raised beds for your own vegetables and herbs, and lots of colorful flowers and shrubs for wild bees and butterflies. Our guests can relax by the pool here. There will be hammocks, swinging benches and a large fire pit and barbecue area. And if you like, you can try delicious Palatschinken pancakes for breakfast or taste our legendary soups and borscht creations.

We have 1001 tips for excursions in the surrounding area. If desired, we organize trips to special power places: Goethe, Schiller, Luther and even the old Thuringian landgraves are very present in our region, and Thuringia, especially in the neighboring Erfurt–Weimar–Jena area, is also very modern.

Whether we will additionally set up a startup gallery is not yet known. But it is likely.
