“Travelling with Time – XXL” is a contemporary figurative composition about the inseparable relationship between human existence, movement, memory, and time.
Man travels with time. Time is within us, and we are within time. We do not simply move from one place to another — we move together with time, carrying our memories, experiences, relationships, and unfinished stories with us.
Three travelers stand together at a railway station beneath a monumental clock, while an approaching train introduces a sense of movement and inevitable continuation. The figures share the same space, yet each appears absorbed in a different inner world. Their elongated geometric faces, hats, coats, and luggage evoke anonymous travelers whose individual stories remain untold.
The clock becomes the central symbol of the composition. It does not merely measure time — it exists together with the travelers. The train and railway tracks represent movement and direction, while the suitcase symbolizes everything a person carries through life: memories, experiences, encounters, losses, and expectations.
The palette combines deep petrol blue, turquoise, ochre, burnt sienna, cream, black, and aged golden tones. Architectural geometry intersects with the figures, creating the controlled visual tension characteristic of the ZAACHI style — a personal contemporary artistic language influenced by Cubism and modern figurative abstraction, where recognizable human forms coexist with deliberate distortion, asymmetry, and painterly imperfection.
The original composition was digitally painted by the artist and then professionally printed on high-quality canvas. The artwork was subsequently extensively reworked by hand using acrylic paints, transparent and opaque layers, spatula work, textured marks, scratches, sanding, splashes, and other painterly interventions. The extensive manual finishing gives the artwork its unique texture, depth, expressive surface, and individual character.
This is a unique mixed-media artwork, entirely authentic and one of a kind. It exists as a single original work and is not part of an edition or series of reproductions.
