Description from the seller
Alfredo Grimaldi — “The Bay of Colors”
Oil on canvas, 24 × 30 cm
A luminous coastal view takes shape through a lively palette, in which blues, purples, pinks and yellows transform the shoreline into a composition rich with energy. In the foreground, several boats resting on the shore punctuate the space with their colorful hulls: the intense pink of the central vessel dialoguing with the blue of the side boats and with the bright orange of the one on the right. The light sails introduce vertical accents, guiding the gaze toward the open sea.
On the left, a small village of white houses clusters at the foot of ridges interpreted through violet and turquoise tones. The sky, traversed by light clouds and pinkish shades, envelops the scene in a soft, dreamlike atmosphere. The free brushwork, made of visible strokes and bold color pairings, emphasizes the luminous feel of the place. The work conveys the charm of a pause along the Mediterranean coast, between the quiet of the boats, the scent of the sea, and the joyful intensity of color.
