Description from the seller
Alfredo Grimaldi — “La costa in fiore”
Oil on canvas, 40 × 50 cm
A Mediterranean view unfolds among lush vegetation and blossoms in vibrant colors. The houses, gathered on the slope and arranged along the profile of the coast, feature white, pink, and yellow façades, brightened by orange-tiled roofs and small blue openings. Their arrangement guides the eye toward the bay, where the sea occupies a wide portion of the composition with deep tones of azure and blue.
In the foreground, large pink roses and red flowers create a lively frame, while branches descending from above introduce the sensation of viewing the landscape from a panoramic garden. Small white sails punctuate the sea surface, offering points of light and suggesting the vastness of space. Color, distributed through evident brushstrokes and strong contrasts, builds a sunlit scene, rich in rhythm and immediacy. The work expresses the pleasure of a view opened to the Mediterranean, where architecture, sea and nature meet in an image of luminous vitality.
