Description from the seller
Unique specimen.
The Bakelite telephone is the grand accessory of melodrama: the one you expect, the one that doesn’t ring. Lying in a pose inherited from the odalisques of classical painting, it wears the smile of someone who already knows what you’re going to say. The untied red ribbon, laid on the bedside table, resembles an opened gift or a fulfilled promise. The rectangle of light on the wall acts as a second window, a white screen where we project whatever we want. An ode to waiting as a form of pleasure.
(Interior visual is an AI visualization, provided for guidance.)
Mixed technique: Hand-brushed varnish on stamped pigment ink,
Support: premium stretched canvas on wooden frame, ready to hang.
Signed Le Yack · Atelier Joconde · certificate of authenticity provided.
Le Yack’s style is a bold blend of elements from Pop Art, street art and classical and modern painting.
