Description from the seller
Magnificent copy with its original publisher William HEINEMANN embossed green cloth binding and, above all, the dust jacket (dust jacket) extremely rare and in good condition after more than a century (very few defects, several tears, photos attest to its condition).
The twelve illustrative plates by Jean de BOSSCHERE are all present and accompanied by their "serpentes". The colors are still very vivid and free of foxing stains.
Each story begins with a beautiful ornate and personalized initial.
More than a hundred illustrations in black and white accompany the texts.
The text pages bear numerous foxing stains that do not alter the paper condition or readability.
Finally note a dedication (see photo) as well as the return coupon to be sent to Mr HEINEMANN to be kept informed of his next publications.
