Description from the seller
École Orientaliste du XXe Siècle - Interior Scene: "The Serving Woman with the Tea Tray"\n\nDescription of the work :\n\nBeautiful oil on canvas that sits within the tradition of Orientalist painting. It depicts a maid in traditional costume (blue caftan adorned with golden embroidery) elegantly carrying a service tray on which rest a handcrafted teapot and its glasses.\n\nThe color work is particularly remarkable: the artist uses a generous, textured brushstroke to capture the reflections of light on the satin fabric. The background, in warm earth tones of Siena and ochre, reveals a richly decorated interior with a square coffee table adorned with a bouquet, as well as a samovar or a large traditional copper pitcher in the foreground. The composition is balanced and faithfully and poetically renders the hushed atmosphere of a North African or Near Eastern interior.\n\nTechnical Features & Details\n• Technique: Oil on canvas\n• Canvas dimensions: 58 x 42 cm\n• Period: 20th century\n• Signature: Signed at the bottom right (Legible signature: "Achibani" see photos)\n• Condition: Very good overall. The pictorial surface retains beautiful reliefs (impasto) and vivid colours. Ready to be framed and displayed.\n\nCareful shipping and tracking."}**
